As a stylist, I have tried a lot of different products. I quickly learned the benefits of leaning toward high-quality products.

In the past, I have reviewed several lace closure products and today I will be choosing the best options out of the hair that was previously purchased. Keep in mind no incentive was given for the products named in this blog and a 100% honest review will be given.

Best Lace Closures

Closures are the perfect hair piece to finish off a look. They can be used on full weaves and wigs as well. While they are usually smaller in size, they provide the perfect option for you to be able to part your hair and still achieve a natural look.

  • Best closure overall – Keswigs offers a desirable closure wig that checks all the boxes when looking for the ideal closure unit.
  • Best closure for versatility – Unice has an outstanding reputation and provides high-quality products. This unit comes with little work needed.
  • Best closure for value – Klaiyi offers a unit for just over $100 which is a great deal. While you can’t customize the unit much, you get a quality unit at an affordable price.
  • Best closure for high quality – Divas wigs products come with a steep price tag, but you get what you pay for.
  • Best closure based on reputation – Beauty Forever has been around for years and is a commonly known company. They have great customer service and their products perfectly align with their vision of creating quality units.
  • Best closure for easy use – The unit for Ali Pearl was affordable and had a closure that did a great job at blending. The wig was pre-plucked and had baby hairs meaning little to no customization was needed.

1. Keswigs Closure Wig 5×5 Invisible HD Lace Closure

Keswigs offers a wide range of products to its customers. They have on-trend items as well as classic units that are perfect for any occasion. The company aims to make its customers feel empowered through its products.

It has been around for years and continues to provide popular products. They also offer free worldwide shipping which is another added benefit of shopping with them.

This unit takes the overall spot as the closure is 5×5 in size giving you a great amount of space to work with. The lace is seamless in color and easily blends in naturally with your scalp, making it perfect for closure.

The downside to this unit would have to be the lack of customization. This is quite common with Keswigs but the company provides quality products, which makes up for this downside.

One downside of this wig however is that the curl pattern is quick to fall and you may need to take extra time to style the unit.

ProsCons
Closure size – The 5×5 size allows for maximum styling options.Lack of customization – Aside from the length of the hair, you can’t customize other areas.
Lace – The lace is flexible and seamless allowing for a great blend.Curl pattern – The loose wave falls flat easily and you may need to spend extra time styling the unit.
Price – The short lengths of this wig are quite affordable.

2. UNice Hair pre-plucked HD Lace Closure Wig

UNice Hair is extremely reputable and was founded over 20 years ago in China. Through proper research and development, they have transformed into a global company that services millions.

The website was initially very overwhelming because they highlighted a variety of different things on the landing page. However, they also had a wide variety of lace closure units along with other units.

This specific unit came with a 5×5 closure which allowed for a good amount of styling options. The closure also came equipped with a free part that doesn’t hold you down to a specific look. The unit was pre-plucked allowing for a diffused, natural-looking hairline.

The knots on this unit were a good size and not too noticeable. Some customization may be needed, but not enough to complain. The hair was a good price and lived up to the positive reputation it has received for all these years.

ProsCons
5×5 in size – The bigger size allows more room for styling.Lack of customization –The only area that could be altered was the length.
Free part – The parting allows you to take advantage of the entire closure area.Pricing – For a very basic unit, the hair wasn’t as affordable as desired.
Lace material – The lace is HD which is considered invisible.Slightly bleached knots – The knots weren’t 100% bleached making some areas distinct.

3. Klaiyi Virgin Human Hair Lace Part Wig

Klaiyi is based in China and has been around for close to 12 years. However, they have a warehouse in the United States that allowed the business to grow further. This means that the company is now able to provide affordable hair to people all around the world.

The hair sold at Klaiyi is 100% human hair. Knowing the hair will last is reassuring when purchasing a unit. They offer a variety of different products and they also showcased how previous customers styled the products.

This specific unit was constructed extremely well and the wefts came directly up to the closure, which resulted in a flawless look. The layouts of the wefts also allowed for the hair to look thicker, especially around the hairline.

The closure was extremely blendable and was still very dense. It blended well into the rest of the hair making it a stress-free option. Little customization would need to be done in order for the unit to look natural. As long as you are okay with a middle parting, this is a great option for anyone looking for a reasonable price.

ProsCons
Mesh under lace – Allows the complete blending into lace and scalp.Size – Equipped with a 4×4 closure, the more space the better, 5×5 is ideal.
Knots –The knots are hand-tied making them almost invisible since they are so small.Part – The mesh material doesn’t allow for a free part, you’re stuck with a middle part.
Price – Extremely affordable even with customizations. No baby hairs or pre-plucking – Makes for an extra step when customizing.

4. Divas Wigs HD Swiss Lace Closure Wig

The company prides itself on providing quality products at an affordable price. They are able to provide luxury wigs to their customers, specifically ones that include lace. While I didn’t find their products to be particularly affordable, they excelled in the hair.

The company was standard in most areas. The layout of the site was basic along with delivery. However, this wasn’t a major problem either. I could still find all of the information needed and the product arrived safely.

The overall quality of the hair was good and the closure provided a seamless blend that allowed the hair to look as if it truly was growing from the scalp. The hairline was advertised as being realistic and it was for the most part.

Bleached knots were sewn onto this lace and they were quite thin. This allows for little to no customization as a user. Overall, the wig is the perfect choice for anyone who is looking for a quality closure.

ProsCons
5×5 in size –The bigger area allows for you to style with ease.Blending wefts –Since the unit comes with a closure, the side hairline exposed wefts.
Knots – The knots are small in size and bleached, able to blend well.Pre-plucked – While the closure wasn’t overly thick, the hairline went straight across.
HD lace – The closure was made from HD swiss lace making it blend extremely well.Price – The base price is quite high making customizations seem unreasonable.

5. BeautyForever HD Lace Closure Wig

The company is based in China which is quite common for a hair company. This being the case, they have successfully created a mainstream brand of real human hair products. They offer their services globally and have a good reputation.

They excel at having great customer service and I was able to use their live chat to get in contact with a representative in seconds. While they had a site that didn’t stand out much, you can easily navigate around. The company also provides a variety of different products, even if you aren’t able to customize a specific unit.

The unit came with an HD lace closure which provided a great foundation for the hair. The lace proved to be a little thick which could pose a problem if you aren’t familiar with installing wigs.

One of the reasons I included this wig on this list of best lace closures was because it was well constructed. The wig was incredibly durable and allowed the cap to blend with the closure.

ProsCons
5×5 in size – The bigger size allows for more styling options.HD lace –Prominent making the base of the hair strands appear darker.
Invisible knots – Although still visible in some areas it’s overall blendable.Smell – There was a subtle smell to the hair, but it went away fairly fast.
Baby hairs – Make it easier to blend the unit to your head and cover the lace.Lack of customization – Only able to customize the length, the price makes it work.

6. Ali Pearl 5×5 lace closure wig

The company has been around for over 20 years and has established a solid reputation during this time.

Since founding its online store, Ali Pearl has continued to grow in size all while attracting more customers. The site offers a wide range of products that allow for customization. It’s easy to add additional customization for a fee and the products are very affordable.

The wig itself had a closure that was great at showcasing the overall quality of the hair and the closure perfectly finished off the unit by creating a foundation that easily allowed the hair to blend. The Swiss lace was also very durable allowing for the longevity of the unit.
Although the lace doesn’t fully extend to the side hairline, the wefts were secured around the side of the unit. This can be a very big problem with certain units, but Ali Pearl did the job right. They prove to be a great choice when looking for a lace frontal option.

ProsCons
5×5 in size – Greater flexibility in styling the hair.Lace color –Depending on your skin tone, the lace could be too light.
Knots – Bleached allowing them to blend into the lace.Blending of closure – The wefts overlapped near the closure causing a thicker seam.
Pre-plucked – Subtle blending makes the unit appear to be growing from the scalp.Customization pricing – upgrading the options for the unit would total over $500.

What to Look for When Making a Purchase?

Overall Quality

When purchasing a lace closure, it is important to make sure it holds up. I know personally, that the appearance of a wig is usually a top priority, but you want to make sure the product is durable. The construction of the wig reflects its quality and worth.

Aside from the construction, the hairline plays a big part when looking into a closure purchase. The entire goal of a closure is to mimic the scalp, so you want it to look as natural as possible. Ideally, the color of the lace should match your scalp and the knots shouldn’t be too dark.

The density of closure is also important. You want to ensure the closure is as thick as the rest of the hair. Having a full head of hair closed off with a thin piece of lace that has little to no hair, is not a good look.

Size

Lace closures often come in a small square shape. The most common sizes for closure are 4×4 or 5×5. They are designed to close off a weave, but they only cover a small section of the hairline.

Lace closures help in mimicking the scalp so a bigger size is generally desired. Having a bigger area gives you more options when styling the hair. You can create a deep parting and expose more of the hairline, to give the hair a more natural look.

One thing to keep in mind when selecting a size is the density of the closure. Even though the unit is bigger, companies don’t always add enough strands to the bigger units. This makes the larger sizes appear thin and balding.

Price

Oftentimes, a big price tag does not always mean the product is of high quality. Understanding why a unit is priced a certain way will help you break down whether the product is really worth it or not.

Lace closures are generally around $90. Depending on the specific type of lace you can expect to pay an additional fee for any customization you may desire. Oftentimes if a company offers a bundle deal, closures are included.

Bundle deals include a set of bundles and either closure or frontal to complete a full weave. This is desired as you get to save money on the entire set and can save around $100 in total. The only downside to deals is you may not receive as many customizations.

What does lace closure mean?

A lace closure literally means you are “closing off” a style and using lace to do so. Closures are typically paired with a full weave or wig to mimic a natural-looking scalp. The size of a lace closure wig can vary. While lace closure wigs are most common, they are offered in different materials as well. Closures offer you the ability to part your hair in a variety of different ways.

What is a lace closure made from?

Lace closures are made from, you guessed it, lace. This foundation allows the strands to be embedded into the tiny holes that are present throughout the closure. Lace closures are desired as they offer you the ability to give off a scalp-like appearance. Lace can come in many different colors, be transparent, and even HD. All these options allow for a seamless blend.

What is the difference between a lace closure wig and a lace frontal wig?

Both options are made from the same material, lace. They also both aid in creating a natural-looking scalp. While this is the case, the biggest difference is in the size of the units. A closure just tops off a look with a small square size parting of about 4×4. Frontals extend across the entire hairline. They offer you a greater parting area and allow the entire hairline to be exposed.

The Bottom Line

By doing thorough research, you can accurately pick a lace closure that will work best for you. Whether the closure you are looking for is to finish off a weave or wig, it will be a great opportunity to finish off your style.
