Since wigs are pretty common nowadays, you have a variety of options available to you. If you know what you are looking for, you will be able to find yourself a natural-looking wig to suit your style. With enough effort, you will find the perfect wig in no time at all.

Best Natural Looking Wigs

Due to wigs becoming so mainstream, it’s easier to find a natural-looking unit. Natural-looking wigs are a great option for beginners. A lot of work is not needed to make the already natural-looking units presentable.

  • Best natural-looking wig overall – Keswigs takes the spot overall since the wig unit is affordable and yet still made with quality material.
  • Best natural-looking wig for versatility – Klaiyi takes the spot for versatility due to the company providing great service and it’s an affordable product. Little is needed to make this natural-looking unit appear even better.
  • Best natural-looking wig for value – Rosegal provides an extremely affordable unit for only $30. While you don’t have many options to switch up the unit, you can receive a quality unit for cheap.
  • Best natural-looking wig for high quality – OMG Queen offers a 360 lace frontal to customers. This is highly desired as you can achieve a variety of different styles with a natural-looking texture.
  • Best natural-looking wig based on reputation – Tinashe Hair has been around for over 20 years. Their extended time in business has allowed them to gain a positive reputation that can be backed up.
  • Best natural-looking wig for easy use –  Luvme hair offers an extremely easy-to-use natural-looking wig. The headband wig allows you to reach your desired style in a matter of seconds.

1. Keswigs Double Drawn Transparent Closure Wig

Keswigs is a reputable brand that offers a variety of different products. The brand ships worldwide and has been in business for over 10 years. They have definitely made their mark in the wig community.

The products the company offers range from affordable options under $100 all the way up  to premium products costing over $1000. These premium products are a part of their celebrity line that allows you to purchase wigs that are similar to celebrities.

The closure of this unit is one of the main reasons the hair is so natural looking. It allows you to get a natural scalp in just minutes and pairs well with the bob style. Another bonus of this unit is the price. It’s so affordable, that you can’t miss out on  this  unit.

One area of improvement that this unit could use is added customizations. Aside from the length, you can’t alter the unit. Since the hair is so affordable, this minor flaw isn’t much to complain about.

What I Like

  • Price – The unit is one of the most affordable units available on the site.
  • Length – You have the option to get a true bob style or get a longer length.
  • Closure – The 4×4 size is ideal for styling the hair naturally.

What I Don’t Like

  • Shipping – Shipping is supposed to take around 5 business days but I found that to be longer.
  • Customizations – Aside from the length of the hair, you can’t customize the unit.

2. Klaiyi’s Human Hair Body Wave Lace Wig

Klaiyi is a company that is based in China and has been around for over 12 years. In 2015 they were able to expand the business and open a warehouse in the states. They aim to provide affordable units to their customers and have definitely achieved this goal.

The store has a captivating effect on customers by highlighting their products in a flattering way. The company provides relatively fast shipping and helpful customer service. One of the main selling points would have to be their 100% virgin human hair.

This unit had a hairline that sold the unit. The unit came with a hand tied lace closure paired with a breathable net. The mixture of the net and lace allowed the hairline to blend seamlessly. This is a great option for beginners.

The reason this unit took the overall best natural looking wig is the fact that every area of the company and unit were desirable. The company provided great service and the wig would require little to no customizations in order to look natural.

What I Like

  • Hairline – The wig came with a 4×4 lace closure.
  • Price – The wig was extremely affordable with a base price of just over $100.
  • Texture – The unit came with a natural looking body wave.

What I Don’t Like

  • Density – The ends weren’t as thick as the rest of the unit.
  • Part – The unit is stuck in a middle part, this limits styling options.
  • Customizations – You aren’t able to alter the unit.

3. Rosegal’s Banged and Layered Wig

Rosegal is not a company that solely focuses on hair. The company was founded by a group of friends that were interested in all things beauty and fashion related. When you first access the companies site you can see they mainly focus on clothes and wigs are a new addition.

Since wigs were a new addition to the company they didn’t offer a large range of products. The product they did offer seemed to look quite similar. The main selling point of this unit was the affordable price since the company lacked in a few areas.

I found this wig to be surprisingly good quality. The hair strands weren’t as silky and thick as other units but had a nice texture. The texture showed a good amount of shine that made the hair appear healthy, not fake.

Another big benefit of the unit was the addition of the bangs. The bangs allowed the hairline to remain unexposed creating a natural look with little need to style. The only downside is instead of hair gathered at the top, it’s gathered into a rubber, fake skin closure.

What I Like

  • Price – This wig was only $30, an extremely affordable natural looking unit.
  • Bangs – Cover the hairline making styling easy
  • Texture – The unit is straight but has layers making it blend well.

What I Don’t Like

  • Closure –The rubber at the crown of the head could be too light for some skin tones.
  • Lack of customization –You can’t create a unit that would best suit you.
  • Shedding – The hair had an excessive amount of shedding.

4. OMG Queens Kinky Straight 360 Frontal Wig

While the company isn’t based in America, the founders got inspired on their trip to the states. They realized the steep prices American companies charged and wanted to provide affordable options to buyers instead.

The store has a very professional look at first glance. They have tutorials on the homepage to further instruct their customers on how to achieve a natural look. This is a great feature for beginners and anyone who wants to better understand how to style their hair.

The company offered a variety of different products, mostly known for their blendable lace units. This specific wig comes equipped with a 360 lace frontal which is highly desired as it makes styling easy. You can achieve natural looking updos with little to no effort.

Another benefit aside from the frontal is the texture of the wig. The kinky straight texture makes the unit look naturally blown out. This allows the hair to have a little more volume and match naturally curlier textures of hair.

What I Like

  • Price –The hair was affordable for what you get in return.
  • Frontal –360 lace allows for maximum styling options.
  • Texture – The kinky texture produces a natural looking unit.

What I Don’t Like

  • Lack of customizations –Not many options were available to alter the unit.
  • Up keep – Since the hair resembles kinky curl hair you need to take extra care.

5. Tinashe’s Pre-Plucked Body Wave Lace Frontal

This company has been around since the 90’s providing years of service to their customers. Since 2016, the company has operated online offering even more options for the company to expand their business.

They provide quality yet affordable products by offering a wide range of human hair units. The company lived up to their positive reputation by excelling in fast delivery and offering a variety of communication options. One of the main areas the company excels in is their HD lace units.

This specific unit from Tinashe archives a natural look mainly due to the 13×4 frontal. The lace blends extremely well in the skin while this makes the knots appear more than desired. Since the lace blends too well, it’s more advisable to bleach the knots so they aren’t as distinct.

This wig is made from virgin human hair which acts and looks like hair that grows from your scalp. This helps the wig look more natural. Another benefit is the body wave texture. The texture has a natural wavy effect that would be easy to style and blend.

What I Like

  • Texture – The body wave achieves an effortless style.
  • Frontal – The wig comes with a 13×4 lace frontal.
  • Virgin hair – Acts and appears the same as natural hair..

What I Don’t Like

  • Knots – The knots didn’t totally blend into the lace.
  • Lack of customization – There wasn’t much choice to alter the unit.

Luvme offers a stress free shopping experience with a variety of different products available to choose from. They also have  helpful customer service options that allow you to have your questions answered pre- order and post order.

This unit was made from 100% virgin human hair which is highly desired. The deep wave offers natural looking results. For the price, you can’t beat the product that you receive in return.

Another major selling point to the unit is the lack of hairline. The headband covers the headband which allows you to have an easy application. This unit allows even beginners to achieve a natural looking style in a matter of seconds.

What I Like

  • Price – A quality wig available just over $100.
  • Ease of use – The headband allows you to skip blending the lace into the scalp.

Factors to Be Aware of When Buying a Natural Looking Wig

Hairline

The hairline is one of the easiest ways to expose the fact that you are wearing a wig. Ensuring your hairline is either covered or blends well will lead to a natural looking hairstyle.

To ensure your hairline blends well it’s common to purchase a wig that has some sort of lace. The lace allows the unit to blend into your scalp producing a highly desired natural look. One benefit is lace is becoming a standard for many units.

The second way to achieve a natural look is by covering the hairline totally. Purchasing a unit that has bangs is the easiest way. Another option that is quite common is investing in a headband wig, this allows you to leave out your baby hairs and avoid blending into the scalp.

Texture

After the hairline, the texture is another thing to be on the lookout for. If you want a wig to look natural, it’s best to select a style that is similar in style to your natural hair. If you have pin straight hair a kinky curl unit may not look natural.

Another thing to note about texture is it can give you a hint on what kind of hair you’re dealing with. For example, straight hair shows off every imperfection. If the strands appear to be too shiny, a trait of synthetic hair, you can easily tell when the hair lies flat.

Curly hair is often a lot easier to make look natural. If a unit is made from human hair the strands will react the same. This means you can apply a product to get a super defined look or skip it to achieve a more lived in look.

Hair type

Wigs come in a variety of different hair qualities. Brazilian, Malaysian, Peruvian, and Indian are some of the most common types. Depending on the type you purchase, you can have an increase in volume, shine, and overall blending.

By taking into account the hair you have, you can match both the texture and type to achieve the best results.

Keep in mind, the type of hair you purchase may affect the overall price. Brazilian hair has quickly gained popularity due to its affordability and overall quality. Other types such as Indian are higher quality and hill have a higher price tag.

FAQ

What kind of wigs look the most natural?

Generally, wigs made from human hair look the most natural. They have the same look as the hair growing from your scalp. Pairing human hair with either a lace front or hiding the hairline all together is another great option for achieving a natural look.

What kind of wigs are good for beginners?

Beginners should navigate towards either lace fronts or a unit that hides the hairline. The hairline is the number one reason most wigs don’t look natural. By purchasing a unit with a hairline that is easy to use, a beginner will have no problem at all styling the unit.

How expensive is a natural looking wig?

Wigs vary greatly in price, they can easily be sold for into the thousands. The material the unit is made from will have the greatest effect on how much you will end up paying. Synthetic hair is cheaper but doesn’t always look natural. Human hair wigs will cost you a couple of hundred dollars.

Closing

While finding a natural looking wig can be a process, it’s possible. The hairline of a wig is one of the most important areas to be aware of when shopping for a natural looking wig.

Keep in mind the ease of use when looking for a natural wig, Luvme provided me with such an easy to use unit I’d be happy to shop again.  It’s not always about the price when shopping for good products, but at times it does help.

With enough research you’re sure to find a unit that is perfect for you and your lifestyle.
