This is a detailed review of Divatress Hair in 2023.

E-commerce hair brands have been all the talk as of late and we are determined to find ones that conform to the customer.
Today I will be reviewing the Freetress synthetic wig from the company Divatress. It was purchased at full price, free of any incentives. It’s in the shade jet black with a 5-inch lace part.

Divatress is an e-commerce company that was founded in 2009. The company is committed to becoming the most loved and trusted wig retailer possible.
The site is updated regularly and accurately describes the products. Email updates and blogs are two methods used to update customers on helpful information along with sales. The way the site is laid out also promotes sales.
This company offers products that are similar to those found in a beauty supply store. Along with hair, cosmetics and skin care are also available. One of the most interesting things about the site is how cheap the prices are.
Customer service can often make or break a company. I didn’t have any contact with the company but they have representatives on call. It’s important to mention if a call is made after hours it won’t be answered till the following business day.
The delivery of this hair was fast, only 3 days. This being said, the shipping was not free due to the order not reaching $70. The order had an additional $7.99 fee to compensate for the shipping. While the shipping was extra, the product came in good condition.
The reviews for this company were positive but there were a few complaints about the customer service. Returns and cancelling orders seem impossible, but the company has proven to respond within 48 hours to customer complaints.
What I Like
- Price – the wig is relatively cheap in comparison with others.
- Lace part – Not all synthetic wigs have lace and don’t look as natural.
- Heat safe – Up to 400 degrees the hair can be manipulated.
What I Don’t Like
- Hair fiber – Due to the fact that the hair is made of synthetic material, you can only do so much.
- No elastic band – Makes it difficult, another feature you may need to customise.
- Length – the site categorizes the hair as medium hair length instead of actual inches.
Hair Quality
Hair Strand
When I first received the hair, I hated everything from the packaging to the quality of the hair itself. In order to give an accurate review, it’s important to note that the unit is synthetic and does not have a closure or frontal.
Unfortunately, the hair color is one big giveaway to the hair being synthetic – because the color doesn’t have any dimension and the strands have a very shiny look.
When combing through the hair it easily tangles, but once again this is more than likely just due to the synthetic texture. The texture of the hair also feels very coarse and rough, instead of soft and silky. There is not much you can do to change the texture.
The company advertises the product as curling iron safe up to 400°. This is amazing considering that synthetic hair usually burns if heat is applied. While this is a cool aspect, the hair is already wavy so I don’t see a need to add more texture.
Hairline
When taking into account that the hair is synthetic you can more accurately judge the hair. The fact that the hair is synthetic yet still has a lace part is impressive. This is hard to come by and looks more natural to the eye.
The lace part is hand-tied which makes the strands blend better. It even has a few pre-cut baby hairs right off of the part. This being said, the unit still looked quite fake.
The part is set into a center part and can not be changed since that is where the small strip of lace is situated. This doesn’t allow for much change in style.
Density
The company didn’t advertise a specific density but it seems pretty high. This specific length worked with the thickness as well. It didn’t look too thick as synthetic hair pieces can appear at times.
Sometimes wigs can be dense on top but then thin out near the ends, this wasn’t the case for this unit. The hair was thick throughout from root to tip.
While the density was balanced for this wig, I do wish they provided a little bit of customization. If you had the chance to switch up the length and density, even for an additional fee, I think this unit would have more success.
Construction
One thing to note about the construction is the wefts are not sewn onto a cap. This means when you brush the unit you can easily snag the entire wig. This can lead to the wig falling apart at a faster rate.
The wig was still constructed in a good way, there are no loose strings or uneven wefts. This is a serious problem, especially when dealing with wigs that don’t contain a cap.
Everything is secured and since it doesn’t contain any lace you don’t have to worry about quickly ruining the wig. It definitely has less upkeep than a full lace front wig.
Cap Size
The unit doesn’t have a cap which can be a pro or con depending on what you’re looking for. With this method, you definitely need to ensure your natural hair is safely tucked away so it doesn’t show.
While the wig doesn’t have a cap, there are other ways to install the unit. There are 2 combs at the front near the part and one in the back. This should lead to a secure installation that avoids any slipping of the hair.
The site doesn’t contain any size guide which may make it difficult to know whether this unit will work for you. This addition could avoid any confusion.

The site is laid out very well. It provides links to anything a potential client could be looking for. What’s new, what’s trending, and the best-sellers are highlighted on the initial landing page.

The store accurately highlights the products and breaks them into further subcategories to navigate better. Doing this leads to a better customer experience and allows the customer to go directly where they were aiming.

Another thing to highlight is that their products are quite cheap. This is a great option for anyone who wants to try out a new style but does not invest a lot right away. You can easily order their products to get a feel of units you may want to invest more in.

Long story short, for a synthetic wig the unit is worth it. But If you are looking for something to wear long term, it would be better just to invest in human hair.
