I’m Dasia, a licensed cosmetologist who loves all things beauty related. It can be difficult to find a good company to shop with that provides good hair and service.
As a result I will be doing a review on the company She’s Happy Hair. The product I will be reviewing is a 12-inch straight lace front wig. This product was purchased without any incentive and a 100% unbiased review will be given.
Overview
Warren Broadnax and Marcus Bowers are the co-founders of She’s Happy Hair (SHH) which was founded in 2012. They had a passion for entrepreneurship and wanted to fill the void they had found in the hair industry. This black-owned business has developed into a household name that many know and love.
The store’s site has a very professional look and is easy to navigate. They highlight all of the needed features like payment options and different ways to contact the company. They also have physical stores that they mention, but don’t let overrun the e-commerce store.
The range of products available on the site was sufficient. They carried a handful of different products, but allowed the variety in texture and style to make up most of the products. All of the hair sold is 100% human and virgin hair in most cases. They even have a hair care line which is impressive.
I personally didn’t have a chance to get into contact with customer support. This was neither their fault nor mine since there wasn’t a need to. They have multiple different methods of contact but, aside from email, only operate during certain hours of the day.
The delivery time on this product was very fast. Taking only 3 days, this falls right in their expected shipping time which is good to know they match. There was an additional $12 charge for shipping which isn’t too bad, but they could improve on the packaging.
The reviews for this brand were all across the board. Some people loved the product and company while others hated it. The biggest downfall appeared to be the overall quality of the hair whereas the customer support proved to be the best.
What I Like
- Shipping – The delivery was fast, taking only 3 business days to arrive.
- Store site – The website is easy to use and looks very professional.
- Hair strands – The hair felt healthy and the color was gorgeous.
What I Don’t Like
- Return policy – All sales are final which gives you little room to make a mistake when deciding which hair is best.
- Pricing – For the price, I’d expect higher quality packaging and the ability to customize.
- Construction – The unit felt thrown together in some sections, especially near the crown of the head.
Hair Quality
Hair Strand
My first impression when unboxing the hair was how soft the strands were. As you combed through the hair you could feel the strands glide through. This means there will be little to no tangles which is great for both styling and longevity.
The wig comes in a dark brown color which is perfectly showcased by the straight texture. The color is rich from root to tip which is a great indication of human hair. This specific unit is virgin which is understandable why the color is rich and has dimension instead of looking dull.
The hair shed more than I would have liked since it decreases longevity and this unit was quite expensive.
Hairline
This wig came with a 13×4 lace frontal. The product description didn’t mention the specific material of the lace but It’s quite thick making me think Swiss lace is a possibility. The lace blends well but the knots were a bit dark.
This unit didn’t come pre-plucked or with baby hairs. While you could get away with not having baby hairs, the hairline comes to a blunt stop and you would need to pluck to diffuse the line. This will help with making the unit look natural.
For being over $300, I’d expect some of these subtle customizations to already be done. This is something to take into account when shopping with She’s Happy Hair.
Density
This unit came in at a density of 180% which is high. The higher density works as this unit is straight in texture.
For the price of the wig I would have expected to have the option to pick from 2 or 3 different densities. While I wasn’t able to choose, I think the length of this unit worked perfectly with the pre chosen density of 180%.
The hair was consistently thick throughout the entire unit, both frontal and cap. The hair also didn’t get thin at the ends which is a problem some units experience.
Construction
I was a little disappointed with the way this unit was constructed. The wefts that backed up to the frontal were not blended well. There is a small part of the cap showing between the frontal and weft.
The cap itself doesn’t have any loose strings which is a positive as it won’t lead to any pulling. Pulled strings can lead to the unit falling apart which is not something you want when you’ve just paid over $300.
Aside from the weft placement near the frontal, the wefts are layed in a flattering way. They are placed straight and the stitching is good leading to a perfectly laid down natural looking wig.
Cap Size
This wig comes with 4 combs to secure attachment, one on each side of the unit. It also has elastics near the nape of the head to decrease the size. The site doesn’t highlight a specific cap size, but It seems pretty average and would appear to fit most.
The cap is made from a pretty standard material that is both stretchy and breathable. Since there isn’t the option to customize the cap size, being stretchy is a big plus.
For the price of the wig, I expected more customizations all around. The company could easily offer additional customizations since the price of the unit is already so high.
Store Experience
She’s Happy Hair has a very professional looking site and it was refreshing to see. They clearly took the time to build a site that was not only easy to navigate but also appealing to the eye.
Their homepage highlights their buy now, pay later service. They offer a variety of options to have a low monthly payment on hair. This is a great option for best sellers, you can buy them whenever they are in stock, even if you don’t have the funds.
The website is broken up into different categories that make perfect sense. There is an option to shop all products but it’s further broken up into hair care, hair texture, and wigs. They even provide a hair blog to help clients learn more about hair in general.
Range of products
She’s Happy Hair provides wigs, bundles, and even specialized hair care products. The product I got was one of their straight wigs and the only other free gift that came was a wig cap which is pretty standard.
They have 6 different hair textures, the extensions are 100% human hair and virgin. Aside from their blonde collection, all of the hair appears a natural brown color with no option to change. You are able to color the hair on your own, this will just require some extra work.
The company also provides their own hair care line which is rare. They have the basics along with products like edge control and argan oil. They even carry a Biotin gummy vitamin; this aids in promoting hair growth, strengthening nails, and supporting healthy skin.
Customer Support
I was not contacted by customer service at any time during the order process. Although this was the case, there are plenty of options if need be. They have email, phone, and social media messaging.
Other than email which provides 24/7 support, they only seem to operate during the hours their flagship store in Texas is open. They are open 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-6. This gives you a good amount of time to contact them for needed answers.
It would have been nice if the company had a live chat feature like many other sites. This enables customers to get a timely response. Using this current method, If you don’t inquire by 6pm, you won’t get an answer till the following business day.
Delivery Time
All She’s Happy Hair is shipped from their main store in Huston, Texas. All orders are processed within 2 business days and shipped afterwards. I received the package 3 days after the order was put in.
There is a $12 flat rate shipping fee on all domestic orders. This was charged on top of the $350 product making the total $362. The package required a signature and arrived safely without any damages.
The one downside to this product was the packaging. The site felt very high end and professional but the packaging didn’t match. The hair was wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a silk bag with the rest of the items. A net would have been beneficial to contain the hair.
What others are saying
This customer is big on customer service. She has a high standard and She’s Happy Hair meets it. The representative was not only friendly but was also able to explain which product would be the best choice for this customer.
This customer didn’t seem too happy with the purchase. It seems to be her first and last time dealing with the company due to its hair quality. The hair came thin and looked broken off, not a good investment in her opinion.

Do we recommend it?
If you have the extra money to spend, buy this product. Overall I found the overall quality of the unit to be quite high and the company was easy to work with. The delivery was fast and they have a variety of products you can buy, including hair care to pair with the hair you purchase.
While I do feel as though the hair is expensive, you get what you pay for.
The biggest downside to this product was its lack of customizations. Aside from this lacking area, She’s Happy Hair is a great choice for some solid hair.
1 thought on “She’s Happy Hair Review”
I hate this hair! It sheds, sticks together, does not flow & has so many fly aways. Definitely lost a 7 year customer.
