Tinashe Hair Reviews

As a licensed cosmetologist and lover of all things beauty, hair is a big part of my life. For the past 4 years I ‘ve been able to gain expertise in the beauty industry.

Finding the right companies to shop with is a great difficulty in itself. I will be testing a product bought from the company, Tinashe hair, to test out their service.

The pre-plucked body wave lace front wig was purchased at full price from this company. There weren’t any incentives given as a result of the purchase.

Overview

Tinashe hair was founded in 1996 by a manufacturer in China. Since 2016, the company has done its business online. The company aims to provide customers with affordable products and quality hair.

The store site was overall easy to follow, however, it felt as if it was lacking in some areas. They definitely could have expanded and been more specific in certain areas like customer support and shipping details. Still, overall they highlighted all of the important things.

Tinashe hair has a wide range of products. They have a variety of different units made from 4 different hair types. Their HD wigs are one product that the company is well known for. The units are pre-plucked and have single knot attachments.

The company has 3 main forms of communication; email, text, and Whatsapp. I had the company check in with me throughout the process via text all the way until my order was complete. The site doesn’t have a live chat like many other sites, you aren’t likely to get a quick response.

The delivery time for this order was fast, about 4 days which is in their recommended timeline. While the delivery was fast I wish the company put more thought into their packaging. The products arrived safely but the packaging was below average and quite cheap.

Most customers were very happy with their purchase. They felt as if the quality of the hair was worth it, both soft and silky. Some pointed out that the hair slightly sheds but not enough to stop shopping with the company. They were also very pleased with the delivery times.

What I Like

  • Refer a friend – For every friend you invite you receive a $5 coupon code.
  • Promotions – The site advertises around 6 different flash deals to their customers.
  • Density – The 200% density fit perfectly with the unit.

What I Don’t Like

  • Packaging – Due to the quality of the hair and the price, I’d expect higher quality packaging.
  • Store layout – The site had a lot going on but not as much in important areas like customer service.
  • Knots – The knots on the lace were very distinct.

Hair Quality

Hair Strand

The hair was bought in a 14’’ length and was bought in the color natural black. The color was unified from root to tip giving a hint that the hair was truly virgin. Even the baby hairs were rich in color making the pre plucked hairline a plus.

The body wave gave a beautiful bounce to the hair, the hair was textured down to even the very ends of the hair. When brushed out you could see they instantly revered to the body wave.

The hair was soft which led to the hair being frizz free and easy to detangle. This is a big benefit because it means the hair is likely to last longer.

Hairline

This unit came equipped with a frontal, the frontal was 13x 4 and made from swiss lace. Unfortunately this was part of the downfalls to the unit as the lace was so thin it showed the strands excessively.

Swiss lace is known to be thin and blend in with many skin tones, while this is the case the knots tend to be more prominent. You would need some customization to make it look natural.

The density could have also played a part in this, they added more strands of hair to make the unit thick but in turn make the hairline look unnatural.

Density

The best part of the wig was definitely the density. You could tell right away the high density. While the hair was purchased in the highest density possible, It didn’t seem too heavy.

While the hair is only 14’’ in length, the density doesn’t seem to overwhelm the look. The hair would fall right below your shoulder without looking too blunt or thick.

The site offered two other options for density, all under 200%. This could be an added benefit for anyone who decides to purchase the hair in a longer length.

Construction

The unit had a few excess strings but many parts of the hair had double stitching to secure the unit. This is of benefit because it means it’s likely to have a longer longevity as less likely to fall apart.

The lace was made from a good material that blended well with the rest of the unit. Since lace can be the most fragile part of a wig, having one that is well constructed is a good thing to look for.

All of the wefts were evenly sewn on and the combs felt secure as well. Having these already constructed onto the wig is an added benefit because it means less customization for the installer.

Cap Size

The lace frontal takes up about half of the area of the cap. The back half of the cap is equipped with two elastic straps, 4 clips, and an additional thick strap that can be applied or removed to your liking.

The cap itself was very stretchy. This is desired since it allows for the wig to mold to your head and lay flatter.

The cap came in the size average. It can even be easily customized as it comes with an extra strap to secure the unit. You can make it smaller in seconds meaning it will work for most, as long as you can fit it on your head in the first place.

Store Experience

This e-commerce store was nice but it felt like it was lacking in some areas. Specifically in areas like customer support, they didn’t have a live chat or tab that notified you when they would respond.

One benefit of this site is their vivid explanation of what makes the company Tinashe hair. They break down different aspects of their company and share the benefits you will get by shopping with them.

The site is broken down into their most sought after products at the top and further broken down when you hover over the category. They showcase different styles and hair types.

On the homepage they even highlight promotions they are having with certain units and any discounts on their most bought items.

Range of Products

The company provides a wide range of products. From wigs in a variety of styles and bundle sets. These sets come complete with either a closure or frontal. Both of these units come in a variety of different sizes as well.

The hair comes in 4 different hair types; Brazilian, Peruvian, Malaysian, and Indian. In both wigs and bundles these types are available. They are also available in over 8 different textures.

Tinashe hair is a part of many companies that provide HD lace wigs. This lace is ultra thin and transparent all the while sturdy. The hair is pre-pluck and has single knots that allows the hair to have seamless blending even at a distance of 2 feet.

Customer Support

The company has 3 main forms of communication when it comes to customer service. Email, text, and via whatsapp. I received all of my communication through text.

The company notified me when the products were being processed and shipped. Once the order is complete they also check in to notify you of the completed order.

You can easily track orders by having your order number and email you used for billing at the check out. The company also points to customer service when dealing with returns. You can email the support team to manage the items you want to return.

Delivery Time

The company ships the hair within 24 hours of the order and uses the services DHL and FedEx to process shipping orders. I received the package within 4 business days.

Most counties take 3-5 business days to process while others take 4-7 days. Some things to note are P.O boxes are not accepted as deliverable addresses. While looking over reviews It was difficult to find any that had a negative experience with shipping.

While the delivery was on point, the packaging for this hair was below average. The free gift came in a silk bag and the unit in a plastic zippable bag, this being the case everything arrived without harm.

What others are saying

The customer was a bit wary about the thin texture of the hair but overall pleased. The shipping was fast and the business was accurate and transparent throughout the entire process.

This customer highlights the quality of the hair, it’s soft and silky. She also brings out the unit slightly sheds but not enough to stop shopping with them. She clearly recommends this brand.

FAQ

How long does Tinashe hair last?

Due to the fact that the hair is 100% human hair, the product can last for 6-12 months. If you take the proper care, human hair wigs from Tinashe hair can last up to 2 years. Their lace front wigs are also known to last longer.

Does Tinashe hair part their wigs?

All of the brand’s lace wigs are part free except for the middle part for bob wigs. This means the hair can be changed from a middle to side part freely. Due to its stagninate status during transport, the part may seem permanent but can be changed.

Does Tinashe hair hold heat styles well?

The company claims yes but there are some helpful tips you can follow. Use the correct temperature and hold for 8-10 seconds. Hair spray helps and it’s beneficial to try out a test strand.

Where does Tinahse hair come from?

The hair is manufactured in China and they supply to multiple different sources. The hair is 100% virgin human hair which means it comes from one donor.

Do we recommend it?

Overall I would give this hair a high rating and would also have to recommend it. The top selling feature is definitely the density. The hair is soft and silky as well.

While the brand itself has some areas that could be improved like site information and packaging, the hair is worth it. I found the pricing to be quite reasonable and the size guides accurate.

The reviews seem to be true and the company has proved to live up to their affordable and quality products.
